Greenville Drive News Release

The first-ever meeting between the Bombers and Intimidators will be one to forget for the Columbia faithful. Kannapolis scored early and never relinquished the lead, rolling past Capital City for the 8-2 win.

Kannapolis shortstop Eric Storey notched a triple in the first inning to drive the first two Intimidators' runs home. The Bombers answered with a run in the bottom of the frame, as Forrest Lawson's single drove Matt Galante in to score and cut the Kannapolis advantage to 2-1.

That score held until the seventh inning, when each team trickled in a single run. The Intimidators blew the one-run game open in the eighth inning: two bases-loaded walks, followed by a double from Kannapolis right fielder Jeremy Reed, brought a parade of five runs home. The Intimidators would hold on for the 8-2 win.

Bombers vs. Intimidators again Tuesday, 7:05pm, with a special "Team Up for Fire Safety" night in conjunction with Richland County Emergency Services.
