Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians have announced the addition of a spectacular Victory Field fireworks show following their 6 p.m. home finale on Saturday, September 5th. The September 5th show is in addition to the previously scheduled post-game fireworks on Friday, September 4th. The back-to-back fireworks shows kick-off Labor Day weekend, traditionally a dynamic weekend full of activities in and around White River State Park in Downtown Indianapolis.

"This is the first time in Indians history that we have scheduled our Fireworks shows for back to back nights on Labor Day weekend at Victory Field," said Indians Vice President and General Manager Cal Burleson. "We think it is a great way to reward our fans for the tremendous support they have given us this season."

On Friday, September 4th the Indians host the Louisville Bats, Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds at 7:15 p.m. A spectacular Victory Field fireworks show follows the game, presented by Coors Light and WTHR-13.

Saturday, September 5th marks the 2009 home finale as the Tribe face the same Louisville Bats at 6 p.m. Fans in attendance that night can register to win Indians player jerseys worn in the game that night as a part of Shirt-Off-the-Back Night. Winners will be selected during the game and presented with their autographed, game-worn jerseys in a ceremony on the field immediately following the game.

The Indians home season will then come to a rousing conclusion with a post-game fireworks show presented by Toyota and WTHR-13.

Tickets are on sale now and going fast. Last season the Indians drew nearly 30,000 fans for their two home games over Labor Day weekend. Fans can purchase tickets at www.IndyIndians.com, the Victory Field Box Office at 501 West Maryland Street or through Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000.
