SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs are asking members of the public to assist them in sending a special gift to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Humboldt Broncos.
Beginning Tuesday at 12 p.m., a condolence book will be set up in the lobby of Harbour Station. Members of the public will be able to sign the book and send messages of condolences and support to the Broncos organization, who were involved in a tragic bus crash on Friday evening.
The book, along with a special Sea Dogs jersey featuring a "Broncos" nameplate, will be sent to Humboldt next week.
"We all grieve together," said Sea Dogs President and General Manager Trevor Georgie. "The entire hockey world, and every community across Canada is thinking about and praying for those involved in this tragedy. Please join us in sending messages of sympathy and encouragement to the community of Humboldt from all of us here in Saint John."
The condolence book will be available in the Harbour Station lobby during regular business hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) until Friday.
15 members of the Broncos were killed in a bus crash while travelling to a playoff game on Friday in Saskatchewan. Several others remain in hospital.
The entire Sea Dogs organization sends its deepest condolences to the players, staff, families, friends and community impacted by this tragic event.
