
Ifl Annual League Meetings Conclude in Las Vegas

SPOKANE, Washington (September 22, 2015) - The IFL announced new conference and divisional alignments for the upcoming season, just a week after the conclusion of the annual league meetings.
LEAGUE MEETING RECAP
The first day of meetings was centered on a number of internally related topics such as finances, conference and divisional alignments, team communications, and online streaming. The second day focused on team and football operations related topics such as home team requirements for game days, player contracts, free agency, and also the 2016 season schedule. There was also extensive discussion in the afternoon pertaining to best practices by teams which covered group ticket programs, single game ticket sales, community relations, league expansion, and additional revenue generations at the team and league level.
The IFL Board of Directors also elected a new Executive Committee to oversee the management, growth, and development of the League. Tri-Cities Fever Owner Teri Carr was elected as the Chairwoman of the Board. Carr has served for several years on the Executive Committee and will not serve for his first year as the Chairwoman. Jeff Lamberti of the Iowa Barnstormers will also serve as a member of the Committee along with Nader Naini of the Spokane Shock.
In addition to the Executive Committee, team representatives were also appointed to the Expansion Committee and the Rules and Competition Committee (R&C).
The R&C Committee assists the league office in reviewing league governing documents and makes suggestions for improving IFL business practices. Larry Treankler of the Green Bay Blizzard will represent the United Conference, Marc Burr of the Billings Wolves will represent the Intense Conference, and Ryan Eucker from the Spokane Shock will serve as the Chairman of the Committee for the 2016 season.
The Expansion Committee assist the league office in recruiting additional members of the league as well as assisting with growing the business model of the IFL. Charlie Bosselman of the Nebraska Danger will represent the Intense Conference, Stanley Legg of the Minnesota Havok will represent the United Conference, and John Pettit of the Iowa Barnstormers will serve as the Chairman of the Committee for the 2016 season.
NEW CONFERENCE AND DIVISIONAL ALIGNMENTS
During the meetings, the IFL Board of Directors also approved the new conference and divisional alignments for the 2016 season as the league welcomed its two new expansion franchises in Spokane and Minnesota (Mankato). The addition of divisions within each conference was created to further emphasize regional rivalries.

PLAYOFF FORMAT
With the IFL growing to twelve teams, six teams will qualify for the 2016 playoffs with the four divisional winners receiving an automatic bid. There will also be one qualifying wild card team from each conference. The Playoff format is as follows:
First Round: No. 1 seeds in each conference have a bye, No. 2 seeds host No. 3
Second Round: No. 1 seeds in each conference host winners of First Round match-ups
Championship: Highest seeded conference champion hosts the United Bowl
