IFL Announces 2021 Most Improved Player

September 9, 2021 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release

The Indoor Football League announced Bismarck Bucks wide receiver Raheem Harvey as the league's Most Improved Player for the 2021 season.

Harvey's hard work to improve his game on the field paid off, as he ranked among the top receivers in the IFL in 2021, helping to lead his Bismarck Bucks to the postseason.

"Raheem is the type of player who works his tail off day in and day out to be a great and we are thrilled for him," Bismarck Bucks head coach Rod Miller said. "He's put in the time and effort required to improve and unlock his potential this season. This accompaniment is well deserved."

Leading the way for the Bucks wide receiving core, Harvey finished in the top-10 in multiple statistical categories. He ended the season with 44 total receptions (7th overall) for 574 yards (7th overall) and 14 receiving touchdowns (5th overall). Harvey averaged 3.1 receptions (8th overall) for 41.0 yards (10th overall) and 13.0 yards per catch (7th).

Also, Harvey contributed to the Bucks' rushing attack, finishing with 11 attempts for 62 yards and scoring three touchdowns.

In his previous IFL season in 2019, he played a limited role in the Iowa Barnstormers' wide receiver rotation. Harvey played in 11 total games where he caught just 11 passes for 121 yards and three touchdowns.

The Bucks coaching staff attributes his grind off the field for the success he has found this season.

"Raheem Harvey is a special player," Bismarck Bucks assistant coach Cory Ross said. "What makes him so special isn't what he does on the field, it's his time investment off the field.

"Raheem's film study and ability to see the field is what has made him thrive in this offense. His practice habits are first class and he hates giving away his reps. Most improved is only the beginning to what I believe Raheem can accomplish. This is only scratching the surface to what he will do going forward."
