Corpus Christi, Texas - The Corpus Christi IceRays, a proud member of the North American Hockey League, have announced addition of two more to its staff as the team prepares for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Joining the IceRays are Athletic Trainer Cynthia West and Corporate Partnerships Manager Zachary Simmons.
West is a Texas native and hails from the DFW Metroplex where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas-Arlington.
"I am super excited to join the IceRays family!" West said. "I look forward to jumping into the hard and dedicated work ethic that the organization provides and help to contribute to building the best team we can." She got her start working with hockey as an athletic trainer in the North American Hockey League. "I am excited to have Cynthia come on board with the IceRays," IceRays President Cassidy Lange said. "I know what she brings to the table as she has been in the league before and is a first-class individual who will take our organization to the next level. Our players will be in good hands with Cynthia."
In addition to her seven seasons in hockey, West has experience with Texas High School Athletics, professional rodeo as a Justin Sportsmedicine Associate, and has been working with the Macon Bacon baseball team of the Coastal Plains League for two seasons. West is eager to get to work with the IceRays. "I strive to be a positive addition to the staff and am eager to see what great things this group can accomplish together," West said. "This is going to be fun!"
She is returning to Texas with her cat, GracieMae.
Simmons is a lifelong resident of the Coastal Bend and brings over 10 years of Sales and Customer Relationship experience to the IceRays. He is a member of the GPISD school board.
"I am real excited to have Zach on board with the IceRays," Lange said. "He has tons of sales experience and account management that will take our customer service to the next level. I look for Zach to bring his connections and his creativity to the IceRays and enhance our brand visibility. I am truly excited to work alongside him."
