IceDogs Fall 4-2 to Fronts

November 17, 2017 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Niagara IceDogs News Release

Your Niagara IceDogs returned back to home ice looking to build off a big win in North Bay last Sunday.

The 'Dogs got off to a slow start in the first period. The Fronts got off to an early 2-0 lead and the 'Dogs tried to dig themselves out of the hole. Kirill Maksimov got the 'Dogs on the board in the 2nd period with an absolute beauty from the the face-off circle on the powerplay! Kirill's team leading 9th goal of the season was assisted by 2018 NHL Draft Eligible players Justin MacPherson and Akil Thomas. The Fronts added another goal in the 2nd period to take the 3-1 lead into the 3rd period. Kirill Maksimov picked up his second goal of the game shorthanded in the third period to cut the Frontenacs' lead to 1 with just under 15 minutes to play in the third period. Maksi's goal gave the 'Dogs new life in the third period as they continued to press for an equalizer. Despite pressing hard, the 'Dogs couldn't sneak the puck past the Fronts' netminder. Kingston added an empty net goal with 1.4 seconds to go to take this one 4-2.

The IceDogs continue the homestand tomorrow night against the North Bay Battalion.

Tickets are still available for our next home game, tomorrow night, Friday November 17th, against the North Bay Battalion in our Military Appreciation night.
