FirstEnergy Stadium -- The Reading Phillies will honor Ryan Howard for his record setting home run hitting accomplishments on Friday, July 23 before the R-Phils game with the Akron Aeros.

Howard will be presented with several gifts and there will be a special video tribute. Game time has been moved back five minutes to 7:10 PM to accommodate the ceremony which will take place at 6:55 PM.

Howard leads all Major and Minor League baseball players in home runs this season with 35.

He became the most prolific home run hitter in Reading Phillies history at Altoona on July 16 when he hit his 34th home run of the season to break Greg Luzinski's 1970 record of 33.

On Sunday, July 18, Howard broke Reading's professional record when he hit his 35th of the season. That mark had been held by Hal Jones who hit 34 for the 1960 Reading Indians.

The Eastern League record for home runs in a season is 41. The mark was set by Hazleton's Ken Strong, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1930 and matched by Buffalo's Rick Lancellotti in 1979.

Also on Friday, the first 2,500 adults 21 and over get a green R-Phils beer yard courtesy of Killian's Irish Red and All-Star Distributing. It's WEEU Irish Heritage Night with post-game ghost stories with Charlie Adams and Post-game Movie Night #2 - "Field of Dreams". Gates to the Classic Café open at 5:00 PM for Happy Hour.
