February 24, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC announced today that the Club will loan defender Erik McCue to the Charleston Battery for the 2021 USL Championship season.
"Erik has been working hard this offseason and is looking forward to the opportunity to gain valuable experience and playing time as a part of his development with Charleston this season," Dynamo Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Jordan said.
The Dynamo Academy product earned four appearances and three starts for Rio Grande Valley FC last year during the abbreviated USL Championship season. McCue made his professional debut with RGV as an 18-year-old against Tulsa Roughnecks FC on March 29, 2019.
The 6-3 defender signed a Homegrown Player contract with the Club on Oct. 30, 2018. McCue signed with the First Team after being named the Dynamo Academy U-17 Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year and received the Academy's Ricardo Clark Leadership Award.
The Dynamo currently have 28 players on the active roster for the 2021 MLS regular season.
