Hillcats Homestand Highlights April 9-14
LYNCHBURG, VA--The defending Carolina League Champion Lynchburg Hillcats open there 2013 home schedule with a six-game homestand beginning Tuesday April 9 against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at City Stadium. The home stand is complete with giveaways, food and drink specials and fireworks to help celebrate the new season.
Opening Night will feature the pregame ceremonial raising of the 2012 Championship Banner and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free Hillcats pennant courtesy of Express Lane and WROV. Tuesdays are Half-Price Tuesdays at City Stadium, with general admission tickets just $4 for opening night.
Wednesday April 10, join the Hillcats for a special 11:05am start for the first "Smoke Free" "Say No to Drugs" Day of the season, presented by TUCP and HIPE. Local sixth graders will join the Hillcats for a day of baseball and education on the dangers of drugs and alcohol. No smoking will be permitted inside the gates on Wednesday. It's also the first WLNI Win-Win Wednesday of the season. When you purchase a ticket to this Wednesday home game, you'll receive a free ticket to the next Wednesday home game on May 1 when you enter the gates!
The first home series of the season concludes Thursday April 11 in a 6:05pm start with the first Theme Thursday of the season; Video Game Night at City Stadium! Fans dressed in video game apparel will receive half-price admission and fans will be treated to special video-game-themed contests and promotions throughout the game! It's also Thursday Cheers at City Stadium, featuring $2 drinks and live pregame music presented by Miller Lite, Yuengling & 97.9 FM The Planet.
The first weekend series of the season kicks off Friday April 12 when the Hillcats host the Potomac Nationals at 6:05pm. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Schedule Magnet presented by Nadine Blakely, Realtor and WYYD! Fireworks, presented by Liberty University, will follow the Hillcats game Saturday, April 13 at 6:05pm. It is also the first "Smoke Free" School Night of the year. All students K-12 will receive free admission ! No smoking will be permitted inside the stadium that evening.
The homestand wraps up on Sunday, April 14 at 2:05pm with the first Faith Sunday of 2013, offering $3 advance tickets to church groups of ten or more! Come to the ballpark early to meet your favorite Hillcats at an autograph session on the concourse. After the game, children 14 and under will be invited onto the field for Kids Run the Bases presented by Uncle Bob's Self Storage . Sunday also means members of Southpaw's Kids Club presented by Yogurt Yeti will receive a free hot dog and drink!
Single game tickets, season tickets, book tickets and nightly skybox rentals are all currently on sale for the 2013 season.
