HFX Wanderers FC Sign Two Canadian Defenders
Halifax, N.S. - HFX Wanderers FC have added strength and pace to the team's defence by signing two more up-and-coming Canadian players.
20-year-old defenders Ndzemdzela Langwa and Chrisnovic N'sa are being unveiled as the Wanderers newest signings, as the team continues to get it's roster ready for the first Canadian Premier League soccer season.
Both are players Wanderers head coach Stephen Hart sees big potential in, with nicknames to match their promise.
Because of his pace down the left side, Langwa is known as 'Zoom', rather than his Cameroonian name (pronounced 'zem'zella). N'sa has earned the moniker 'The Wall' due to his reputation of not letting many attacking players get past him.
"I thought Langwa would bring a very dynamic sort of element to our squad considering his athleticism and his speed," explained Hart. "When I watched N'sa he had a good sense of his positional play and he read the game quite well."
Left full-back Langwa, originally from Ottawa, is excited about getting a chance to play back in Canada, after spells with Italian teams Triestina and Palmese and then UD Socuéllamos in Spain.
"I think this league can showcase our talent because so many people around the world don't know we have it in Canada," Langwa said. "We're going to make Canadian history this year."
Centre-back N'sa, from Montreal, is signing his first professional contract with the Wanderers after a breakthrough season at the U-19 level with Montreal Impact academy.
"I feel great and I feel blessed because I work hard all my life to get this contract and Halifax is giving me the chance," N'sa said.
The pair are part of a core group of seven aspiring Canadian players in coach Stephen Hart's squad, which has now grown to 11.
The Wanderers will be making a splash with more new player signing announcements in the coming weeks as they prepare for the big kick-off of the new CPL in April.
