Heritage Sports Ventures to Partner with Major League Rugby's New England Free Jacks

March 5, 2021 - Major League Rugby (MLR) - New England Free Jacks News Release

BOSTON, Ma. - Heritage Sports Ventures (HSV) and the New England Free Jacks of Major League Rugby (MLR) jointly announced a strategic partnership today. HSV will serve as an extension to the Free Jacks commercial partnerships sales and activation team with a heightened focus on delivering new and dynamic team partners to the Free Jacks in their second season with MLR.

The Free Jacks were named as Major League Rugby's expansion franchise in 2018. After a shortened inaugural season in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Free Jacks are eager to begin their 2021 MLR Campaign on March 20 as they take on Los Angeles in the famed LA Coliseum. The Free Jacks will host their first-ever home match on April 3rd against the Utah Warriors with the support of over 1,100 Founding Member Season Ticket Holders. In addition to the MLR franchise, the Free Jacks have launched a comprehensive training academy program and junior teams.

HSV is excited to welcome the New England Free Jacks to the Heritage Sports Ventures family," said Ian Frenette, HSV CEO and Managing Director. "Alex Magleby and his team at the Free Jacks have built a premier brand, we're proud to support the continued elevation of the Free Jacks and the sport of Rugby across New England. We believe the rich history of the game, loyal fanbase and increased youth involvement in the sport provides a variety of commercial partnership opportunities on the local, regional, and national level."

"We could not be more excited to enter into this partnership with Heritage Sports Ventures," said Alex Magleby, Co-Founder and CEO of the Free Jacks. "Being able to draw on the 20 plus years of successful partnership execution, knowledge and relationships that HSV has grown and cultivated across the region will help us to better connect our current and future partners to our rapidly growing fan base."

This partnership follows the recent announcement of Heritage Sports Ventures as a Boston-based boutique sports, entertainment and media agency focused on optimizing commercial revenue for brands and properties through partnership sales, brand alignment, events, and venue management.
