Herd Forces Win Over Sioux Falls

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Sioux Falls Skyforce 133-126. A high-scoring game resulted in a tied score of 70-70 at the half, hitting a new season high for points in the first half. The Herd dominated defensively in the third quarter keeping the Skyforce to only 24 points. A.J. Green and Jontay Porter scored 6 three-pointers each tying a team-high for the season and bringing the team to 40.9% from the three.

Sandro Mamukelashvili led the Herd with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. A.J. Green added 24 points followed by Jontay Porter with 22 points. Lindell Wigginton also posted a double-double with 17 points and 11 assists.

DJ Stewart was on top for the Skyforce with 35 points shadowed by Chandler Hutchison with 30 points. Jamaree Bouyea added a triple-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists.

Rob Edwards opened the game with a steal and finish to put the Herd on the board. Iverson Molinar added to Rob's layup with a three-point play to bring the score to 5-0. The Skyforce answered, taking the lead with a 13-3 run. A.J. Green added two consecutive three-point shots to bridge the gap between the Herd and the Skyforce. Sioux Falls continued to increase the lead going up by nine points at the four-minute mark. Alex Antetokounmpo hit back-to-back baskets to put the Herd within four, but the Skyforce turned around to lead 39-34 at the end of the first quarter.

The Herd opened the second quarter outscoring the Skyforce 13-7 to take the lead 47-46. The Skyforce was quick to go ahead but Brandon Randolph tied the game (49-49) for a second time with a layup. The Herd was able to secure the lead 56-51. The score was tied 70-70 at the end of the first half. A.J. Green guided the Herd with 15 points including 4 three-point baskets.

Iverson Molinar opened the third quarter with seven points in a row. Jontay Porter completed a three-point shot to put the Herd up 91-79. The Skyforce answered to come within six but the Herd remained in the lead. Sandro Mamukelashvili and Brandon Randolph combined for six points to put the Herd up 102-94 at the end of the third quarter. Jontay Porter and A.J. Green scored 5 three-pointers each in the first three quarters.

Brandon Randolph scored back-to-back baskets to put the Herd up by 11 at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The Skyforce battled back to be down by five points at the five-minute mark. Lindell Wigginton combined for five consecutive points to push the score to 125-114. Lindell Wiginton secured the win with a last-minute free throw. The Herd won 133-126.

The Wisconsin Herd will hit the road to play the Grand Rapids Gold on November 29 with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. CST.
