Help Us Put Spinner "Over the Edge"

April 17, 2014 - American Association (AA) - Wichita Wingnuts News Release

WICHITA, KS (April 17, 2014) - Everybody knows that your average, every day, garden-variety squirrel is fleet of foot and possesses the ability to climb and jump pretty much anywhere. Have you ever wondered how a lovable seven-foot tall squirrel in a Wingnuts' jersey would fare on the side of a 14 story building? With your help we will all be able to find out!

The Wichita Wingnuts are asking for your assistance to send Spinner, the Wingnuts' mascot, "Over the Edge" on May 10th. If the team can reach their goal of $750 by the aforementioned date, Spinner will rappel down the side of the Ambassador Hotel in what is sure to be an unforgettable experience. You can make your donation today by visiting overtheedgekansas.com and clicking on Spinner's page under the "Donate to An Edger Page" tab or clicking on the following link http://www.overtheedgekansas.com/edgers/spinner-wichita-wingnuts-mascot/%20.

All proceeds from the event will support the Scouting program of the Quivira Council, which serves youth in 30 counties in southern and southeast Kansas with a values based, character development program. Scouts grow in leadership, citizenship, physical fitness and self-confidence as they set goals and achieve them. Your participation in this event can help to make a difference in the lives of youth and families involved in the Scouting program.

The Wingnuts have teamed up with the Boy Scouts of America on many occasions in the past and will continue that tradition this season. The team will host a pair of Scout Nights and Sleepovers at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in 2014. The first of those dates is on Friday, May 16th against the Grand Prairie AirHogs with the second taking place Saturday, July 19th against the Sioux City Explorers. Each of the days will include tickets for as little as five dollars, a commemorative Scout Night patch for each Scout and Leader, and a movie shown on the video board following the completion of the game.

The seventh season of Wichita Wingnuts baseball begins Thursday, May 15th against the Grand Prairie Airhogs at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. For information on season tickets, group outings, and party packages, call the Wingnuts' main office at (316) 264-NUTS, or visit the Wingnuts' official website at www.wichitawingnuts.com .
