Hawks Logo, John Deere Colors

January 27, 2022 - United States Hockey League (USHL) - Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa - Cedar Valley-made John Deere equipment serves an important role in feeding people around the world, and hockey jerseys featuring the manufacturer's iconic colors will play their own part in fighting food insecurity in northeast Iowa next weekend.

Friday, February 4th and Saturday, February 5th have been designated "A Weekend with the Black Hawks, sponsored by John Deere." During games against the Fargo Force each night, Waterloo will wear sweaters incorporating green and yellow into the team's recently redesigned logo. Following Saturday's game, the jerseys will be up for bid during a live auction at Young Arena, benefitting the Northeast Iowa Food Bank (NEIFB). NEIFB provided over 2.4 million meals to families in 16 Iowa counties last year.

"Our fans are also John Deere fans, whether they work there or have ties to people who do or appreciate that world-class John Deere equipment is made in our community," said Black Hawks President of Business Operations Joe Greene. "The Black Hawks are proud that our partnership with John Deere has yielded tens of thousands of dollars for community groups over the years and will provide a boost to the Food Bank in 2022."

For the first time during the Hawks' 15-year partnership with John Deere - and to help celebrate 60 years of hockey in the Cedar Valley - this season's jersey will feature a Hawks logo recolored to match the John Deere brand. Above that featured crest, a trademark John Deere emblem appears on the front of the right shoulder. Yellow, green, and black striping wraps around the waist and sleeves, while the top of the shoulders are also green, surrounding a yellow collar. On the back, player names appear in green, with matching numbers that are trimmed in yellow.

During games on February 4th and 5th, John Deere employees and retirees can take advantage of a limited quantity of subsidized $5 tickets, while supplies last. After that allotment is exhausted, $10 seats will be available in all arena seating sections. To order, call the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680 or visit tickets.waterlooblackhawks.com.
