Vancouver Canadians News Release

Vancouver, B.C. - Plenty of opportunities, few capitalized on. Monday night saw the Vancouver Canadians go 3-for-16 with runners in scoring position as Boise managed a second straight victory out at historic Scotiabank Field as the Hawks won 8-6.

SS Logan Warmoth went 2-for-5 while 3B Mattingly Romanin collected a pair of RBI for the Canadians who fell to (39-32; 18-15) on the season while Boise who got multi hit nights from SS LJ Hatch (2-for-5), 1B Luis Castro and LF Daniel Jipping (2-for-4) had an offensive answer for each-and-every rally put forth by Vancouver.

Canadians starter LHP Zach Logue was strong over his 3 2/3 innings of work, allowing a pair of earned runs on five hits, striking out three. Reliever LHP Joe DiBenedetto struggled on Monday going two innings, succumbing to four earned runs on four hits and walking three and hitting two more that allowed Boise to break a 4-4 tie and pull ahead for good.

The Canadians will send RHP Juan Nunez (2-8, 5.18) to the mound opposite RHP Ryan Luna (3-4, 4.34) on Tuesday, August 29th at 7:05pm as Vancouver heads into tomorrow's game 3-5 (.375) vs. Boise in eight head-to-head games this season. Note: The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club has announced that this game is SOLD OUT and Wednesday's (1:05pm) game vs. Boise as well.
