HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc split a pair of games on the road over the weekend, falling at Louisiana 5-1 on Friday before rebounding with a 3-2 win over the Mississippi Surge on Saturday.
Friday, March 16 - Huntsville 1, Louisiana 5
LAFAYETTE, LA - Shawn McNeil recorded a hat trick as the Louisiana Ice Gators took care of the Huntsville Havoc 5-1 on Friday night.
Josh Boyd and Tyler Lyon also netted goals for the Ice Gators while Barrett Brook scored the only goal for the Havoc.
Mark Sibbald made 29 saves in the loss while Jeff Rose and Dan Earles combined to make 27 saves in the win.
Saturday, March 17 - Huntsville 3, Mississippi Surge 2
BILOXI, MS - Mike MacDonald scored with 2:08 left in the game giving Glenn Detulleo his first career coaching win as the Huntsville Havoc beat the Mississippi Surge 3-2 Saturday night.
The Surge struck first with 2:53 left in the first period when Scott Jenks scored a powerplay goal.
Justin Fox tied the game at 1-1 with 13:43 left in the second period but Glenn Cacaro put the Surge back up 2-1 just thirty seconds later on an unassisted goal. Dennis Sicard would tie the game back up at 2-2 with 9:58 left in the second.
Mark Sibbald made 34 saves in the win while Nick Eno made 27 in the loss.
