Havoc Set Training Camp Roster for 2017 Campaign

October 10, 2017 - SPHL (SPHL)
Huntsville Havoc News Release

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc General Manager and Head Coach Glenn Detulleo announced the final roster for the team heading in to training camp which begins Oct. 11, and includes seven familiar faces to Pharmacy First Ice.

Player/Assistant Coach Stuart Stefan returns for his seventh season with the Havoc. He leads a group of six players who skated with the club during their playoff run last year including Sy Nutkevitch, Christian Powers, Kyle Sharkey, Nolan Kaiser and Andy Willigar. Two players on the training camp roster spent time with Havoc competitors in the Southern Professional Hockey League last season: Alex Botten with the Fayetteville FireAntz and goaltender Mike DeLaVergne for the Macon Mayhem.

After spending the last two seasons with other teams in the SPHL and in Europe, Nick Lazorko returns to the Huntsville Havoc this year. The Rockwall, Texas native played 109 games and tallied 55 goals for the franchise from 2013-2015.

Detulleo and Assistant Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jesse Kallechy signed nine recent college graduates to the training camp roster and three players who skated for European clubs last season, including Keegan Asmundson who was between the pipes for Löwen Frankfurt in Germany. Asmundson also briefly saw time with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the SPHL two years ago.

Training camp practices are open to the public, but there is only one opportunity to catch a Havoc preseason game in Huntsville. The team faces the Mississippi RiverKings Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Von Braun Center. The teams face-off for a second preseason game in Southaven, Mississippi, on Oct. 15.

The Havoc start the regular season on the road in Georgia taking on defending SPHL President's Cup champions, the Macon Mayhem. On Tuesday, Oct. 24, the Huntsville Havoc will host a "Meet the Team" party, featuring free food and drinks and a chance to meet the players before picking up season ticket books. Huntsville plays two additional games on the road before starting the home campaign Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. against the Fayetteville Marksmen.

Single-game tickets are on sale now at ticketmaster.com or at the Von Braun Center box office.
