Havoc Announce Protected Player List for 2018-19 Season

Huntsville Havoc News Release

HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA - The Huntsville Havoc have announced the 13 players from their championship roster that will be protected for the 2018-19 season.

The Southern Professional Hockey League allows each team to protect 13 players from the final roster, giving them exclusive rights to these players for the following year. These players cannot sign as free agents with other SPHL teams, however they are still free to sign contracts with teams in other professional leagues.

"This season's protected list was not an easy task," said Havoc Head Coach Glenn Detulleo. "There are several players left unprotected that we would gladly welcome back, but the league mandates that we get down to 13. This list includes a core group of guys at each position that we hope to bring back as we build another championship team."

The players excluded from the protected list can be selected by the new SPHL franchise in Quad City (Moline, Illinois) or with other teams in the league.

Topping the protected list is the team's all-time games played leader Stuart Stefan, President's Cup finals MVP Sy Nutkevtich and Huntsville's leading goal scorer from last season Christian Powers.

Here is the complete list of protected Havoc players.
