Last time out

The Senators dropped game one of their three game series in Erie 5-1 on Friday night. The Senators led 1-0 after two, but couldn't score further even though they had several opportunities. They had two on and no outs in the third, loaded the bases with two outs in the fifth, had a lead off double in the seventh, and put two on and two outs in the ninth but couldn't capitalize on any of those opportunities. Erie scored two in the third and three more in the fourth making a loser of Tanner Roark. Carlos Martinez pitched 3.2 scoreless innings keeping the Senators in the game. Chris McConnell had two hits in the loss.

Tonight's Game

The Senators and Erie SeaWolves play game two of a three game series tonight in Erie. The SeaWolves have won seven straight games to move to within 6.5 games of the Senators. Harrisburg is just 1-3 on their current six-game road trip through Reading and Erie. The Senators lead the season series 5-3 with five games left between the teams, including three at Metro Bank Park in two weeks. LH Danny Rosenbaum makes his AA debut tonight for the Senators.

Entering play today, the Senators are 2nd in the league in HRs (109) and tied for 3rd in triples (32). They are 114 x 148 (77%) in stolen base attempts. Derek Norris is the leading catching in the Eastern League in caught stealing efficiency (.392). They have not been shut out since losing 8-0 to Trenton on 4/17 in game one of a doubleheader.

Six Senators were named with five participating in the All-Star game. RH Erik Arnesen (1ip 3k), OF Archie Gilbert (1 x 2), INF Tyler Moore (0 x 5), RH Brad Peacock, OF Bill Rhinehart (1 x 3 2b rbi r) and RHP Hassan Pena (1ip 1h 2k).

Awards

Tanner Roark was named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week on Monday. He joins Bill Rhinehart, Steve Lombardozzi, Tyler Moore and Archie Gilbert, have all been named Players of the Week and Brad Peacock, who twice earned the Pitcher of the Week award.
