Grizzlies Rally Late to Top Aces, 4-3

Reno Aces News Release
FRESNO, Calif.-Reno saw a one-run lead evaporate in the eighth inning Tuesday night, as the Fresno Grizzlies handed the Aces their first series sweep of the 2011 season with a 4-3 victory in the series finale at Chukchansi Park.
Reno used a three-run fifth inning to erase an early deficit, and the 3-2 advantage stood up until the eighth. In that frame, Fresno used a pair of pinch-hit, run-scoring singles by Hector Sanchez and Conor Gillaspie to take a 4-3 lead. Ryan Langerhans tripled with two outs in the bottom of the ninth for Reno to put the tying run just 90 feet away, but Mark Hallberg followed with a fly out to right to end the proceedings.
The loss capped Reno's first sweep of the season and extended the club's losing streak to a season-high five-straight games. Still, the Aces finish the road trip with an 8.5-game lead in the division with just 34 games left to play.
Sam Demel-just optioned to Reno by the Diamondbacks-was pinned with the loss after surrendering the go-ahead run in the eighth. Aces starter Wade Miley took a hard-luck no decision, allowing two runs on eight hits with 10 strikeouts over 6.2 innings of work.
Geno Espineli (1-3) earned the win for Fresno after working a scoreless frame, and Dan Otero slammed the door in the ninth for his seventh save.
Tony Abreu led a six-hit Aces attack with two hits and two RBIs.
The Aces now head back to Reno to begin an eight-game homestand against the Memphis Redbirds and Nashville Sounds. In Wednesday's opener against Memphis, RHP Barry Enright (8-3, 4.92 ERA) gets the nod for Reno. The Redbirds will counter with RHP Adam Ottavino (3-8, 4.86 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT.
Aces playoff tickets will go on-sale August 8, while tickets for regular season home games are available today at RenoAces.com, the Aces Ballpark box office or by phone at (775) 334-7000. Discounted group tickets for your next event are also available.
