
Greg Scott Signs with Toronto Maple Leafs

Seattle, July 3, 2008 - Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced left wing Greg Scott has signed a three-year entry level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"I am very excited to join the Leafs," said Scott. "They are a quality organization with a lot of tradition. I am looking forward to going to their training camp in the fall and competing for a place on their roster."
Scott will be attending a week long Maple Leafs Prospects Camp starting this Sunday in Toronto. Scott was second on the T-Birds in scoring last season with 75 points on 38 goals and 37 assists. He had a team high plus/minus rating of plus-40 with 56 penalty minutes. He finished the season tied for 15th in the WHL in scoring with two other players.
"This is a great opportunity for Greg and this is his reward for the effort he put in and the improvements he made in his game last season," said Farwell.
Scott has played three seasons in Seattle and has accumulated 64 goals and 65 assists in 213 games. He has a three year plus/minus rating of plus-44 with 155 penalty minutes.
Scott will attend Toronto's Training Camp this fall and have a chance to make the Maple Leafs roster. He could return to the T-Birds next season as one of three 20-year-old players.
T-Birds training camp for the 2008-09 season starts Monday, August 25, and will take place at Kent Valley Ice Centre.
