Georgia Swarm Clinches #1 Playoff Seed in the East, Regular-Season

April 14, 2017 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) - Georgia Swarm News Release

Duluth, GA- The National Lacrosse League's Georgia Swarm (10-4) clinched the No. 1 playoff seed in the East Division and the East's regular-season division title on Friday night -- both are firsts in franchise history. Heading into the weekend, the Swarm needed a win or a Toronto loss to claim the East's No. 1 seed. With Buffalo's 13-8 upset victory against Toronto at Air Canada Centre on Friday evening, the Swarm punched its top-seeded ticket with three weeks remaining in the regular season.

Georgia will host its first-ever home playoff game at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Field at Infinite Energy Arena during Game 2 of the East Division Finals in May. The Swarm will announce the date and time of the playoff game on Saturday, April 15 at 10 a.m. via their social media channels. As the top seed, Georgia will get a bye in the first-round of the NLL Playoffs and will have home-field advantage in the East Division Finals, which will decide who advances to the Champion's Cup to face the West Division Finals winner.

The NLL Division Finals is a two game series between the No. 1 seed and the winner of the 2nd and 3rd seed first-round matchup in the division. If the clubs each win one game in the Division Finals, a 10-minute overtime 'mini-game' shall be played immediately following the conclusion of the second game. If this mini-game is tied upon the conclusion of the 10 minutes, sudden death overtime will occur.

Playoff Tickets are ON SALE NOW and start as low as $20 and can be purchased by visiting GeorgiaSwarm.com/Playoff. Axiom Corporation is the presenting sponsor of the Swarm's first-ever home playoff game.

Georgia hosts the Buffalo Bandits (6-9) on Saturday, April 15 for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Field. Tickets can be purchased by calling 844-4-GASWARM or visiting GeorgiaSwarm.com/PlayoffPush
