Victoria Generals News Release
The Victoria Generals struggled to find an answer to Alexandria Aces starting pitcher Ben Suit on Friday night as the Aces won 4-1. Suit threw eight innings, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out eight.
The Generals lone run of the game came in the first inning on a solo home run by Ryan Dalton, his third of the season.
Generals' starting pitcher Blake Denman struggled with his command all night long as he allowed seven walks in the ballgame. He gave up four runs on five hits and struck out four.
The Aces scored twice in the third inning and twice in the fourth. Both innings were marred by walks and errors by the Generals defense.
The Generals managed eight hits in the ball game. Brad Shankle had three hits and Ryan Dalton had two. Chad Kruse also added two hits as he is now just two hits shy of breaking the TCL record of 74 in a season set by Erik Lis back in 2004.
The Generals fell to 25-29 overall and 13-12 in the second-half. The Aces improved to 15-37 on the season and 6-18 in the second-half.
