Generals Acquire Peccia from Frontenacs

November 21, 2017 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Oshawa Generals News Release

Oshawa, ON- The Generals announced they have acquired goaltender Mario Peccia from the Kingston Frontenacs in exchange for two draft picks.

With the acquisition of Peccia, it allows for current backup Nathan Torchia to continue playing games and developing with his Tier II team in Stouffville. Generals send draft picks in the 6th and 8th rounds back to Kingston.

"With the unfortunate injury to Kyle (Keyser), we will be in a unique scenario where we will use three goalies this season" said Vice President and General Manager, Roger Hunt on the acquisition.

In two seasons with the Frontenacs, Peccia appeared in 18 games maintaining a goals against average of 2.95 and a 0.888 save percentage.

The Oshawa Generals would like to welcome Mario to the organization and the city of Oshawa. You can catch Mario in the lineup when the Generals take the ice for three games this weekend against Hamilton, Barrie and Mississauga.
