Gameday Preview: Storm Set to Host Rival Lincoln at Viaero Center

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm will host the Lincoln Stars tonight for the second time this season at the Viaero Center. In the first five games of the season series, Tri-City has taken four games from the Stars, including a 6-2 win at the Ice Box in Lincoln in the most recent meeting between the two in state rivals on November 24th. Tri-City (17-5-1-0) plays the final game of a five game homestand tonight at the Viaero Center in Kearney following a 4-2 defeat of the Fargo Force on Saturday. The Storm has won seven of its last eight games and remains in 1st place in the USHL's Western Conference standings. With thirty five points in the standings, Tri-City leads Sioux City and Waterloo by three entering the final three games before the holiday break. The Storm will complete a four game season series with the Fargo Force Saturday and Sunday on the road at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND. Tri-City has outscored Lincoln 18-9 through five games in the season series. Tri-City is 8-2-1-0 when playing on home ice this season.

Lincoln (7-11-3-1) enters tonight's game in 7th place in the Western Conference standings, trailing the 1st place Storm by seventeen points. The Stars will play their first game of a three game in three days schedule tonight in Kearney, before returning home to play host to Waterloo and Des Moines tomorrow night and Saturday night. Lincoln's lone win over the Storm in the season series came on November 11th in a 3-0 win at the Ice Box in Lincoln. The Stars are 3-6-1-0 in their last ten games, and will be in search of its second road win of the season tonight. Lincoln's only road victory to date came over two months ago on October 6th in a 4-2 win over Des Moines at Buccaneer Arena in Urbandale, IA.

Today's game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio.
