Game Preview: Storm Seek Consecutive Wins over Lincoln

Kearney, Neb. - Tri-City improved to 3-0 at home and 4-1 overall Saturday night with a 3-0 shutout victory over the Lincoln Stars. The Storm will begin tonight's game against Lincoln in a tie for 1st place in the USHL standings.

After starting the season 3-0, Lincoln enters tonight's matchup having dropped their last two games, including a 3-0 decision to the Storm at the Viaero Center on Saturday night. The Stars are now 1-2 away from home, while Tri-City boasts the best home record in the USHL with 3 wins and no losses. Casey Dornbach has peppered opposing goaltenders while on the Power play, recording 23 shots on the man advantage, 2nd most in the USHL. Goaltender Tomas Vomacka has already won 3 games this season, trailing only Oskar Autio of Chicago, and Tri-City's Filip Larsson. Rookie Devin McCabe has compiled 5 points through his first 5 USHL games this season. Eero Teravainen leads all Lincoln Defenseman with 4 points (1G, 3A) through 5 games.

Tri-City hits the ice searching for back to back wins vs. Lincoln following a 3-0 blanking of the Stars last weekend. Tri-City improved to 4-1 on the season, and 3-1 against teams from Nebraska (Omaha 2-1, Lincoln 1-0). Storm goalie Filip Larsson was named to the USHL Player of the Week list for Week 3 as the USHL Goalie of the Week following his 2 win, 51 save performance last week vs. Omaha & Lincoln. Tri-City enters tonight's matchup with the top penalty kill in the USHL as the only team to have not allowed a powerplay goal this season. The team also sports the league's 5th best powerplay with a conversion rate of 20% through 5 games played. Filip Forsmark of Tri-City and Adam Dawe of Sioux Falls are the only players in the USHL with multiple powerplay goals scored this season.

Tri-City has outscored opponents by a total margin of 10-2 on home ice this season. For the first time since the 2003-2004 season, the Storm have won 4 out of 5 games to start the regular season.

"Rivalry Night" is presented by the Nebraska Lottery. Tonight's events will also include a pregame car smash, $5 kid ticket pricing, and a postgame autograph session with the team!
