Game Notes: Sounders FC vs. Club Nacional (International Friendly) - February 20, 2019

Sounders FC continues its 2019 preseason this week with its first Seattle-based preseason match against Club Nacional of Uruguay on Wednesday, February 20 at CenturyLink Field (7:30 p.m. PT / JOEtv, YouTube TV, El Rey 1360 AM). The club then hits the road this weekend for a preseason match against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday afternoon at Avaya Stadium.

Seattle midfielder Nico Lodeiro began his career with Club Nacional, playing in the youth system from 2003-2007 before breaking out with the senior team from 2007-2010 (Charis Wilson / Seattle Sounders FC).

Wednesday's match is being carried locally on JOEtv and regionally on YouTube TV, featuring Keith Costigan, Kasey Keller and Steve Zakuani on the call, in addition to Matt Johnson, Marcus Hahnemann and James Riley providing pre-match, halftime and post-match TV coverage. Fans in Western Washington can listen to El Rey 1360 AM for a Spanish radio broadcast, featuring "Zuper" Mario Rodriguez, Felipe Maqueda and Carlos Tapia.

One of the most storied clubs in South America, Nacional has won the Uruguayan Primera División 46 times, in addition to three Copa Libertadores titles and three Intercontinental Cups. It is also the home club of Sounders FC midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro, who played in Nacional's youth system from 2003-2007 before making 49 appearances with nine goals for the senior team from 2007-2010.
