FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution return home to host Chivas USA (pronounced CHEE-vas) at 7:30 p.m., on Saturday, July 7, at Gillette Stadium. The game is the back end of a home-and-away series that began last weekend in California, where the Goats took a 2-0 victory over the Revs at The Home Depot Center on Saturday, June 30.
The Revs (6-3-4, 22 pts.) are one of MLS' top home teams, compiling a 3-1-2 mark at Gillette Stadium while averaging a league-best 2.67 goals per game at home. Chivas USA (6-5-2, 20 pts.) has only one win on the road, going 1-5-1 away from home with just four goals scored in seven road matches. Saturday's match is the second of two meetings this season between the two teams.
The Revs are second in a tightly-packed Eastern Conference, one point behind new leader D.C. United. A total of two points separates the top four teams in the East, all which happen to be MLS' top four scoring teams this season. Chivas USA enters the game still in third in the Western Conference, and is coming off a 2-0 loss at FC Dallas on Wednesday evening.
The teams enter Saturday's game square in the all-time series, which is knotted at 2-2-1.
