JOHNSTOWN- The Johnstown Tomahawks are proud to announce that defenseman Zak Galambos has been named to the National Hockey League Central Scouting Service Preliminary September 2015 Players to Watch List. Galambos earned a "C" rating, indicating he is a fourth through sixth round candidate.

"It was great to see Zak be recognized for his efforts to start this season by cracking the initial central scouting list. He received loads of attention in Blaine from multiple NCAA programs as well as NHL clubs," said Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia.

A native of Walnut Creek, Calif., Galambos has appeared in six of the Tomahawks eight games this season, scoring a goal in the team's 4-0 win over Brookings at the 2015 North American Hockey League Showcase.

Last season, Galambos played in 13 games for the Janesville Jets and 11 games for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League.

"Zak is a great skater that reminds me a lot of Casey Nelson with his ability to initiate the play for us and play with a nice edge to his game defensively as well. I look forward to working with him and watching his game evolve this season," said Letizia.

Galambos is the second Tomahawks player to be named to the Central Scouting Service list, joining goaltender and Florida Panthers draft pick Ryan Bednard, whose name appeared on the list last season.

Johnstown opens its 2015-16 home schedule Oct. 16 and 17 against New Jersey, with a special appearance by Hockey Hall of Famer and National Hockey League legend Bobby Hull scheduled for the Oct. 16 game.
