Gait, Thorpe, Soudan And Schiller To Attend Radio Show November 10th At The Distillery

(Rochester, NY)... The Amerks and Knighthawks weekly radio show, "Power Play," will have an all-star lineup on Monday, November 10th at The Distillery at 3010 Winton Road South. National Lacrosse League Hall of Fame forward Gary Gait, defenseman Chris Schiller, General Manager Regy Thorpe and Assistant GM Tim Soudan will be LIVE guests on the show, which airs on WYSL 1040-AM and www.wysl1040.com.

With the Amerks playing at 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena, the one-hour show will be dedicated totally to lacrosse. Craig Rybczynski, the Voice of the Knighthawks, and K-Hawks Krew founder, Tim Knab, will host the weekly show. Gait brings unquestionably the best lacrosse resume in the world to the Knighthawks, winning champions at every level. Gait has won three NLL titles (1991, 1994-95), three Major League Lacrosse titles (2001-02, 2005), three Mann Cups (1991, 1997, 1999), the Heritage Cup (2004) and the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) World Championship (2006). He also captured three NCAA championships with the Syracuse University Orange.

Schiller enters his eighth season with the Knighthawks. The Penfield native was named the Knightawks' Unsung Hero in 2008, which was the third time in his career he captured the award. He was also a member of the 2007 NLL Championship team.

Soudan played 15 seasons of professional indoor lacrosse - 11 of those with the hometown Knighthawks. The Fairport native played with the Knighthawks from the team's inception in 1995 to 2005. He ranks tied for third in team history in games played (125) and tied for fourth in goals (156). The former forward also remains sixth in assists (161) and points (317). In 1996, he was honored as the team's Seventh Man for his hard work and dedication. He was a member of the 1997 MILL Championship team and a key component in the team's string of 11 playoff appearances in 11 seasons. In 2005, he was named to the Knighthawks' 10th Anniversary Team.

Thorpe begins his first season as the team's general manager after spending 14 seasons in Rochester. The Elbridge, NY, native stands as the team's all-time leader in games played (180), loose balls (910) and penalty minutes (353). Thorpe also played in every postseason game in franchise history (23), guiding Rochester to six title games and 13 playoff berths in 14 seasons. More importantly, Thorpe is the only player in team history to play for both championship teams: 1997 and 2007.

The Knighthawks will open their 2009 National Lacrosse League Training Camp on Saturday, November 15th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Rochester Sports Garden (1460 East Henrietta Road). Rochester opens the season on Friday, December 27th with an 8:00 p.m. game at Chicago against the Shamrox. The Knighthawks' home opener is scheduled for Saturday, January 10th against Chicago at 8:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
