Ottawa Fury FC News Release

Fury FC are back at TD Place Sunday afternoon to continue their three-game home stand with a clash against 2014-expansion cousins Indy Eleven as part of the Fury Fanatics and Coaches Appreciation Day as the club celebrated Ottawa-Gatineau's minor soccer community.

The club will look to build on their strong defensive performance Wednesday night that helped them snap their three-game losing skip with a 0-0 draw with Miami FC.

Perhaps more impressive from Wednesday night's result is how they got it done - with a very limited cast of players as the injury bug has bitten Paul Dalglish's squad often this season and now sees eleven Fury FC players sidelines with various injuries.

It was Ottawa's first shutout in nearly a month - and the first career NASL clean sheet by Marcel DeBellis in just his third career NASL start.

"I think there was a lot of positives from Wednesday's game," said DeBellis. "We were able to get a point against Miami who is in great forum as of late. We need to take those positives and build on it for Sunday. As for myself, it's always nice to get a shutout as a goalie but it was a collective effort from the team and staff."

DeBellis was also delighted to see all the guys fighting for each other and leaving it all on the pitch.

"We are a very tight unit in the locker room," added DeBellis. "We have had so many injuries this year and haven't really had a full lineup, but nobody has ever complained or looked for excuses. To get a point Wednesday with only 11 healthy outfield players shows how determined we are as a team. We all fought for each other and we need to keep doing that to succeed."
