North Carolina FC News Release

CARY, N.C. (Oct. 6, 2017) - Following North Carolina FC's impressive month, Brian Sylvestre, Connor Tobin, Steven Miller and Nazmi Albadawi were all selected to the NASL Team of the Month for September.

The team posted a record of 2W-2D-1L and outscored its opposition 6-2 in September, marking its best month of the season to date. The strong play has moved NCFC from outside the playoff picture into a strong position to qualify. The team currently sits in third place in the combined standings with a five-point lead on fifth place.

Sylvestre anchors the league's Team of the Month in goal after earning three shutouts in five matches.

Tobin and Miller earned spots on the backline after strong performances throughout the month. Both were featured on the NASL Team of Week two times in September. Miller also found his way into the offense from the right flank and scored a goal against FC Edmonton on Sept. 10.

Albadawi continued his strong form in the Fall Season, notching a goal and an assist during the month. The midfielder has consistently served as a playmaker for NCFC and earned NASL Team of the Week and NASL Play of the Week honors during Week 7 of the Fall Season.

NCFC will remain at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park to face Puerto Rico FC on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Since the matchup was slated to be a home game for Puerto Rico, all tickets will be only $10 and 50% of all ticket sales will go to the Carmelo Anthony Puerto Rico Relief Fund.
