
Former Gambler Matt Greene on Stanley Cup

(Green Bay, WI) On Monday night Los Angeles Kings defenseman Matt Greene became the third former Green Bay Gambler to have his name on the Stanley Cup. The Kings 6-1 win was the series clincher as they beat the New Jersey Devils 4-2 in the best of seven series for the franchise's first Stanley Cup Championship.
Greene, who played in Green Bay during the 2001-02 season, appeared in twenty playoff games for the Kings including every game of the Stanley Cup finals. In his twenty appearances the Grand Ledge, Michigan native scored 2 goals and 4 assists. Greene's second goal was the last goal scored in clinching game.
On the losing side of the Stanley Cup finals was former Gambler forward Ryan Carter. The White Bear Lake, Minnesota native was a part of the Anaheim Ducks that beat the Ottawa Senators to win the cup for the Ducks in 2007.
Along with Greene and Carter, Former Gamblers forward Adam Burish also has his name on the cup. Burish was a part of the Chicago Blackhawks when the team won in 2010.
