Fargo Force News Release

The Force secured a dominant 6-3 win tonight at Scheels Arena, thanks to goals in every period, three in the first, two in the second, and one in the third. A four-point night from Aaron Huglen and 30 stops in the net from goalie Brennan Boynton helped give the Force their 4th straight win.

Austin Wong started out the scoring for Fargo firing one in off an assist from Trevor Griebel and Jeremy Davidson. A little under 5 minutes later Aaron Huglen redirected in a shot from Ryan Siedem for his 6th goal of the season, giving the Force a 2-0 lead.

One minute later the Force widened their lead even more. A Lincoln player was sent to the box for cross checking giving Fargo their first power play opportunity of the night. Owen Gallatin made short work of it firing in a shot from the blue line eight seconds after the power play began. The Force closed out period one with a 3-0 lead, outshooting their opponents 10-8.

Lincoln managed to squeak one past Boynton off a rebound early in the second period, cutting the Force lead back down to two. But it wasn't long before Fargo answered back. This time it was Tristan Broz who found the back of the net, tipping in a shot from Owen Gallatin for his 5th goal in the last 4 games. Less than a minute later Jake Braccini intercepted a Stars pass in front of their own net, sending one in and bringing the score to 5-1.

At the halfway point of the period Lincoln scored a powerplay goal with only five seconds remaining in their man advantage. The 2nd period closed with the score at 5-2.

The 3rd period was scoreless until late in the game, when the Stars pulled their goalie to add on an extra attacker. The offensive tactic worked as they scored their third goal of the game with just 1:53 remaining to pull within 2 at 5-3. Aaron Huglen shut down any thought of a comeback sending in an empty net goal with under a minute left. It was his second goal and fourth point of the game.

With tonight's 6-3 win the Force improve to 19-9-2 and remain on top of the Western Conference with 40 points. We're back again tomorrow and Saturday for a two-game series against the Omaha Lancers. Puck drop on Friday night is at 7:05 PM.
