Fisher Cats Lose to Rock Cats, 4-1

New Britain, CT----The New Britain Rock Cats salvaged the finale of their opening series against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, scoring a 4-1 Easter Sunday win.

For the first time in the four-game series, New Britain scored first. The Rock Cats got to LHP Derek Lee (0-1) for a run in the first inning. 2B Luis Maza singled to right and scored on RF Jason Kubel's double down the line in right

The Rock Cats extended the lead to 4-0 in the sixth on an RBI double by DH Kevin West and a two-run homer to left by 1B Billy Munoz, his 2nd of the young season.

The Fisher Cats scored their only run in the 8th. 3B Robert Cosby led off the inning with a double to left, advanced to third on a groundout by C Paul Chiaffredo, and scored on a groundout by RF Maikel Jova.

New Hampshire had runners in every inning, stranding a season high 10. They loaded the bases with no one out in the seventh, and failed to score.

The Fisher Cats continue on the road, playing the first of three at Trenton tomorrow. RHP Todd Ozias makes his first start for New Hampshire. Chien-Ming Wang starts for the Thunder, the Yankees AA farm club. Game time is 7:05pm. All Fisher Cats games can be heard on the WKXL Fisher Cats Radio Network thirty minutes prior to first pitch.
