Fargo Force Move on to Clark Cup Finals
The Force came to play in tonight's contest shutting out the Musketeers 3-0 and claiming the title of 2021 Western Conference Champions. A rock solid 34 performance by Fargo goaltender Andrew Miller, as well as a goal and an assist from Tristan Broz (for 9 total points so far this playoff season) helped lead the Force to victory and a chance to take on the Chicago Steel for the Clark Cup.
Period one saw no goals and only a single penalty from the Force early in the period. Andrew Miller and Akira Schmid both put up walls for their teams in the opening frame, Miller with 15 saves and Schmid with 17.
The Force added their first tally of the night on a goal scored by Tristan Broz at 5:15 into the second period. He ripped one to the back of the net on rush down the ice thanks to a feed from Ryan Siedem for his 3rd goal of the playoffs so far. The Force saw two powerplay chances and Sioux City saw one but neither team capitalized on their man advantage, closing out the frame with a 1-0 Fargo leading in S0G 24-22.
At 2:59 in the final period Matt Crasa got ahold of a loose puck in the Force defensive zone and took it down the ice going top shelf to put Fargo up 2-0. The Force held their two goal lead thanks to an unbelievable performance by goaltender Andrew Miller. He backstopped Fargo to a perfect 24 save shut out win holding off some dangerous Sioux City scoring opportunities. Jeremy Davidson added a third goal on an empty Sioux City net with just two seconds remaining, securing a 3-0 win for Fargo and sending the Force to the 2021 Clark Cup Finals.
