Pittsburgh, PA - The Madison Capitols open up the 2018-19 campaign today on the first day of the 2018 USHL Fall Classic. The game will take place at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Capitols open the Fall Class with a 1pm CT game against the Des Moines Buccaneers. The Buccaneers finished last season in last place in the Western Conference with 47 points. The Capitols were in 8thplace in the Eastern Conference last year, racking up 50 points.

Both teams will bring back double-digit USHL veterans to help lead the charge. This matchup will be a battle of two squads trying to make a name for themselves this season. The Capitols are looking to open up the season with a victory for the first time in program history.

Madison will then finish the showcase on Friday as they take on the Tri-City Storm at 3pm CT. The Storm snuck into the postseason last season with 62 points where they were swept by the Fargo Force in the first round of the postseason.

Jake Barczewski returns to backstop the Storm while Connor McMenamin it the leading returning scorer with 30 points last season.

The Capitols return seven members to the team this year, backstopped by Joseph Lamoreaux. Other returners include Christian Berger, Trey LaBarge, Reid Pabich, Kristoff Papp, Anthony Stark, and Branden Suter.

The Caps return home for the first time on Friday, October 12th for the 2018-19 home opener.
