Express Punch Ticket to NBL Finals

(WINDSOR, ONTARIO) The Windsor Express have clinched the NBL Central Division Championship.

Windsor blasted the London Lightning 110-95, eliminating the two-time champions in Game 7 of their semi final series Tuesday night at the WFCU Centre.

In a back and forth first half, Windsor escaped with a 49-45 advantage, but thumped the Lightning in the back end with a 25-23 third quarter win and a 36-27 fourth quarter.

Darren Duncan and DeAndre Thomas posted 26 points each.

Duncan also threw around 11 assists.

Thomas, Stefan Bonneau and Quinnel Brown each grabbed 8 rebounds.

Elvin Mims had 22 points for the Lightning.

In front of over 2,500 fans at the WFCU, Windsor has taken the next step, making an NBL Finals appearance for the first time in franchise history.

The Express will face the Island Storm in the Finals, the team who eliminated Windsor from the post season last year.

Game 1 of the NBL Finals will take place on Friday, April 4th at the WFCU Centre at 7:00pm.

Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday, April 6th at 2:00pm, also at the WFCU Centre.
