San Diego Sockers News Release

SAN DIEGO - The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers announced the signing of forward Taylor Bond for the 2018-19 Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) season. The transaction was made during the MASL's Free Agency signing period which ends tonight. Per league and team policies, details of the agreement were not released.

Bond, who is the Sockers third free agent signing this month, brings his scoring talents to San Diego. The four-year MASL veteran has tallied 88 goals, 27 assists for 115 points in 71 career games with Chicago, Cedar Rapids, and Tacoma. His best season was the 2016-17 campaign with Chicago in which he scored 40 goals and had 14 assists. He has played with the U.S. National Arena Soccer Team, won three titles with the Chicago Fire PDL team, and has logged time abroad starring with Sandviken in Sweden.

"The signing of Taylor Bond is very exciting as he has the potential to be an offensive force like he was in Chicago. If he can put up those types of numbers again, we will be very potent and successful," said Sockers GM Sean Bowers.
