Boise Hawks News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Jefferson Medina and two relievers combined on a three-hit shutout and Nate Tenbrink hit a grand slam homer in a six-run fourth inning, as the Everett Aquasox stopped the Boise Hawks, 6-0, at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Medina limited Boise to just three singles, walking three, and struck out five to record his first win of 2014.

The Aquasox batted around in the fourth - scoring their first run on a wild pitch and another on a Adam Cousino two-out RBI infield single. After a walk, Tenbrink, in Everett on a rehab assignment from AAA Tacoma, clobbered Brad Markey's first pitch in relief over the wall in right to cap the scoring.

Game 2 (weather permitting, as a 100-percent chance of rain in expected in the Puget Sound area) of the series is tomorrow night with Josh Conway meeting Lucas Schiraldi at 8:05 p.m.

NOTES: The Hawks have recorded just 10 hits in their past three games, after recording 10-or-more hits in each of their previous seven contests...Tommy Thorpe was solid in his second outing in relief with Boise, striking out four in two innings...it was the tenth-straight game that the Hawks opponent has scored first in a game.
