Erie SeaWolves Announce 2018 Manager
(Erie, PA) - The Erie SeaWolves, in conjunction with their parent club the Detroit Tigers, announced their 2018 manager. Andrew Graham has been named the 16th manager in SeaWolves history. He replaces Lance Parrish, who led the club for the previous four seasons. Graham is the first manager in team history to have previously played for the SeaWolves.
Graham, a native of Sydney, Australia, has spent the past seven seasons as a manager in the Tigers organization, all at the Class-A level. He managed the Connecticut Tigers (2011-13), West Michigan Whitecaps (2014-16) and Lakeland Flying Tigers (2017). Graham guided West Michigan to the 2015 Midwest League championship as part of back-to-back playoff appearances for the Whitecaps. Prior to managing, Graham served as a coach for the Gulf Coast League Tigers in 2009-10 and was the Tigers' minor league catching coordinator in 2010. Graham also filled in as hitting coach for the SeaWolves for part of the 2010 season.
Graham was the Tigers 19th round selection in the 2003 June draft. The former catcher spent six seasons as a player in the Tigers minor league system, including playing in 20 games with the SeaWolves in 2006. Graham saw action with Australia during the World Baseball Classic in both 2006 and 2009.
The SeaWolves open their 24th season on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia Phillies). The 2018 home opener at UPMC Park, presented by Plyler Entry Systems, is Friday, April 13 against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates).
