
Erdos joins Tribe

INDIANAPOLIS, IND.âThe Indianapolis Indians have added pitcher Todd Erdos, the team announced today. Erdos was purchased from Triple-A Rochester and will join the team today. To make room for Erdos, pitcher Reggie Rivard has been transferred to Double-A Huntsville.
Erdos, 31, a native of Meadville, Pa., has appeared in four games with Rochester this year without a decision. He threw three innings, allowing one hit, issuing one walk and striking out three.
Last season, Erdos pitched for Rochester and appeared in 29 games, all in relief. He posted a 2-2 record and 4.54 ERA. In 33.2 innings pitched, Erdos gave up 42 hits, walked five batters and struck out 16.
Erdos has five years of Major League experience with San Diego, the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. He has appeared in 63 games and has posted a 2-0 record and 5.67 ERA. In 92 innings, Erdos allowed 105 hits, walked 45 batters and struck out 58.
Erdos was selected in the ninth round of the 1992 draft by the San Diego Padres.
