ECHL Announces Fine, Suspensions

March 12, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release


PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Wednesday announced the following fine and suspensions.

South Carolina's Collins suspended

South Carolina's Anthony Collins has been suspended for one game as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #615, South Carolina at Kalamazoo, on March 7.

Collins received an instigating penalty at 15:23 of the third period. He is suspended under Rule #46.22 which states any player deemed to be the instigator or aggressor of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation or at anytime in overtime, shall be automatically suspended from his team's next game.

Collins will miss South Carolina's game at Gwinnett on March 14.

Bakersfield's Collins suspended one additional game

Bakersfield's Chris Collins has been suspended for one additional game as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #627, Bakersfield at Alaska, on March 8.

Collins missed Bakersfield's game at Alaska on March 9 and will miss Bakersfield's game against Idaho on March 14.

Evansville's Krug fined, suspended

Evansville's Matt Krug has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions during pre-game warm-ups prior to ECHL Game #631, Evansville at Reading, on March 9.

Krug is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline. He will miss Evansville's game against Orlando on March 14.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
