Eagles Name Captains for 2021-22 Season

SYDNEY - The Cape Breton Eagles have named their captains for the 2021-22 season. Defenseman Sean Larochelle has been named captain, while forwards Nicholas Girouard and Connor Trenholm along with defenseman Jérémy Langlois will serve as alternate captains.

The 20 year old Larochelle was acquired in a trade this summer with the Victoriaville Tigres, where he won the President's Cup in 2021. During the playoffs he collected eight points in 19 games with a +11 rating. (He had 12 points in 26 games during the regular season.)

Girouard is also an overager who acquired in a trade this summer, from Saint John. Last year he collected 26 points over 31 games with the Sea Dogs. Trenholm, now in his 18 year old season, wore an "A" with the Eagles last year where he had 20 points in 37 games. Langlois, also in his 18 year old season, had nine points in 21 games last season.

All four players will wear their letters for Friday's season opening game as the Eagles host the Halifax Mooseheads at 7 PM.
