Drillers Set Impressive Lineup of Promotions for 2018
Today the Tulsa Drillers have announced a very exciting promotional schedule for the 2018 season. Fans will have a lot to look forward to as the team has a complete schedule of Fireworks Spectaculars, popular promotional giveaways and fun theme nights planned for this season.
Post-game Fireworks will once again follow each of the Friday night home games, as well as after five Saturday home games. There will also be special back-to-back-to-back Fireworks Shows to celebrate our nation's birthday from July 4-6, making a total of 18 Fireworks games in 2018.
Fans will not have to wait long for the first giveaway of the year. After the annual pre-game Opening Night Parade on Thursday, April 12, the first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a Drillers Rally Towel. Two nights later on Saturday, April 14, the first 1,500 fans will receive a Drillers Blanket with the iconic TD logo.
On Sunday, April 15, the Drillers will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day along with Major League Baseball. All Drillers will be wearing special #42 jerseys to pay respect to the man who broke the color barrier in baseball with the Brooklyn Dodgers 71 years ago.
On May 3, the Drillers pay tribute to one of the best seasons ever for a Drillers player by giving out Matt Beaty Texas League MVP Shirts to the first 1,000 fans. The next game, May 4, will feature the annual Star Wars Night. The fun night will feature music, movie clips and trivia as well as appearances by a number of Star Wars characters.
The Drillers will remember a former player who has made his mark in the majors with Corey Seager Go-Green Bobbleheads on May 17 for the first 1,000 fans. The Drillers will also be wearing their special Go-Green jerseys on this date.
The annual Faith and Family Night will return on Friday, May 18 where fans will be able to enjoy post-game Fireworks followed by a free concert from Christian pop artist Micah Tyler. The Beaumont, Texas native has top 10 hits on the Christian Songs Charts, including the song "Different" which has over 3.2 million views on YouTube.
On June 14, the Drillers will honor a Broken Arrow born celebrity with a fun and unique Kristin Chenoweth Bobblehead. The Oklahoma native has performed on Broadway and has guest-starred on a number of popular TV shows such as Frasier, Ugly Betty and Glee. She was also nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in the television series, Pushing Daisies.
Two nights later, on Saturday, June 16, the 7th annual Mickey Mantle Night will again honor the iconic, Oklahoma-born Hall-of-Famer and the first 2,000 fans will receive special 20-Time All-Star Rings. The Mick's sons, David and Danny Mantle, will also be at ONEOK Field to sign autographs and throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Less than a week later on June 21, the Drillers will be giving out another unique bobblehead to the first 1,000 fans. This one will be of the Drillers biggest fan and mascot, Hornsby. We won't spill the surprise, but trust us, this bobblehead is one you don't want to miss!
In a celebration to the great City of Tulsa, from July 5-9 the Drillers will celebrate "918 Nights." This will be a very special promotion, and more information will be released soon!
The Drillers will be honoring the reigning National League Rookie of the Year on two dates in August. Cody Bellinger played for the Drillers in 2016 and represented DrillVille well last year when he smacked 39 home runs and knocked in 97 RBIs in his first season in the majors. August 2 will feature a replica Cody Bellinger Road Jersey, and August 16 a Cody Bellinger Rookie of the Year Bobblehead.
August is highlighted with many great promotions including Back-to-School Night on August 4 Oklahoma City Thunder Night and giveaway on August 18.
The season will also feature a number of ongoing, weekly promotions to help fans get through their work weeks. Mega Money Mondays give fans a chance to win cold, hard cash. Last season a fan walked away from a game with $10,000!
The very popular $2 Tuesdays returns as nine Tuesday home games will feature $2 lawn tickets along with $2 concession items such as Dodger Dogs, Mazzio's pizza slices and soft drinks.
Wednesday night games will continue to be Bark in the Park nights where fans can bring their best canine friends with them to ONEOK Field. Owners will be asked to provide necessary documentation stating that their furry friend has received all the necessary vaccinations.
Finally, most Thursday games will be "Buck Nights," featuring $1 beers, hot dogs and soft drinks. Many of these nights will also feature a premium giveaway item.
Young fans were not forgotten as the popular Souvenir Sundays/Kids Eat Free promotion
returns for all Sunday games throughout the season.
The Drillers will open the 2018 season on the road when they travel to Frisco take on the RoughRiders on Thursday, April 5. After a six-game road trip, the Drillers and RoughRiders will meet in the Home Opener at ONEOK Field on Thursday, April 12.
