Dopirak's broken foot lands him on DL

(Birmingham, AL) April 8th- This morning the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx placed 1B Brian Dopirak on the seven day Disabled List. On opening night (Thursday, April 6th), Dopirak injured his foot while rounding second base in the Diamond Jaxx 6-3 win over Birmingham. X-rays later revealed that Dopirak suffered a broken foot. He will be out at least six weeks.

IF/C Peter Farina has been recalled from the Cubs extended spring training roster in Mesa. Farina split time between the Cubs Rookie League team in Mesa and Short-A Boise, hitting .265 with no homers and four RBI's.
