Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders to Perform at Metro Bank Park

January 15, 2013 - Eastern League (EL) - Harrisburg Senators News Release

Harrisburg, PA - For the first time ever, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are coming to Metro Bank Park. No, the Cowboys aren't playing a football game here. The Harrisburg Senators are thrilled to announce the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders appearing at Metro Bank Park on Tuesday, July 16 to help the Senators in their quest to defeat the New Britain Rock Cats in a 7:00 p.m. game.

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have been cheering on the Dallas Cowboys since the 1960 season. First, as an organized group of local high school cheerleaders, in 1972 they began the transition to becoming America's Sweethearts. They are the most well-known cheerleading squad in the world, having performed before and during Cowboys games, including 5 Super Bowls, several NFL American Bowls and a World Cup game between Spain and South Korea. The DCC remains a regular part of the United Service Organization (USO). Beginning with their first USO/DOD tour to South Korea during Christmas of 1979, they just completed their 75th tour to entertain the troops in the Persian Gulf in December 2012.

They are TV stars in their own right. Along with their "made-for-TV" movie, The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders airing in 1979 and its sequel in 1980, The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders II, their reality TV series, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team has been airing since 2006 on Country Music Television. Over the years, they've also been on The Love Boat, Family Feud, Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader, to name a few.

Twelve members of the iconic squad will be in Harrisburg on Tuesday, July 16 to perform before and during the game. Beginning in the seventh inning, the DCC will be signing autographs and taking pictures with the fans.

The only way to guarantee a seat right now at Metro Bank Park for that night is to be a full-season ticket holder or to purchase a ticket in the brand new Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Plan. Current plan holders will be able to purchase tickets right now for this game at regular gate rates without having to purchase another plan.
