(Gesa Stadium - Pasco, WA) - A four-hit performance from Canadians 2B David Harris went for not on Monday night as Vancouver struggled in its regular season finale falling 11-1 to Tri-City.
Canadians RHP Justin James made his first start of the summer as manager Clayton McCullough chose to set his rotation for the upcoming NWL Playoffs, and went 3 2/3 innings allowing a run in each of the first three frames.
Trailing 3-1 heading to the bottom of the 5th inning, Canadians reliever RHP Brandon Dorsett allowed five earned runs over his 1/3 inning of work walking three and hitting two other Dust Devils as part of a seven-run outburst that saw 12 Tri-City hitters come to the plate.
Canadians RF Melvin Garcia would go 2-for-4 on the night while 2B David Harris bumped his season average to .263 after going 4-for-5 on the night. Vancouver would outhit Tri-City 10-9, yet lost by 10 runs to finish the regular season with a record of 39-37 (.513).
The Canadians now return home to Vancouver to prepare for Game One of the NWL North Division Final, presented by Scotiabank, on Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:05pm against the Everett Aquasox.
Vancouver will start Ladner, B.C. native RHP Tom Robson (3-0, 0.94) against Everett starter RHP Jake Zokan (5-3, 4.18).
