Rapids celebrate Opening Day with the Rapids Pub Crawl in LoDo! To celebrate Opening Day, the Rapids are hosting a Pub Crawl in LoDo tonight, Thursday, April 10th. For only $12, you'll receive a Touchline ticket to Opening Day on April 12th, a Rapids Pub Crawl T-shirt, and Drink Specials at the participating Restaurants and Bars. "Rapids Week"

Team Hosts Community-wide Events Every Day Leading to the Team's Home Opener on April 12th The Colorado Rapids organization announced today the team's first annual "Rapids Week", which will run from April 5th through April 12th. A variety of community events will take place in celebration of the Rapids' 2003 MLS season opener at INVESCO Field at Mile High on Saturday, April 12th.

Rapids Week will kick off on the evening of April 5th with a DUSK TO DAWN 4 vs. 4 soccer tournament at INVESCO Field at Mile High. This sold-out community wide competition will feature over 100 local teams and will begin at 8:00 PM Saturday evening and will last until dawn the next day. The DiamondVision in the stadium will be featuring games from the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan. NOTE: THIS EVENT IS RESCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE FROM SATURDAY, MAY 3 TO SUNDAY MAY 4! On April 6th, the public will have the opportunity to meet the 2003 Rapids players from 2-4 PM at INVESCO Field at Mile High at the 8th Annual "Meet the Rapids Day". All the new and returning players and coaches will be available for pictures and autographs.

Monday, April 7th the public is invited to compete against the team in skee ball and arcade games at the "Rapids Challenge". This competition will be hosted by Dave & Buster's in Westminster and will begin at 5PM. In attendance will be Rapids players Chris Carrieri, Jeff Stewart, Zach Kinglsey, Seth Trembly, Matt Crawford, Casey Schmidt, Billy Sleeth, Byron Foss, Nat Borchers, Wes Hart and the Rapids mascot Rapidman!

On Tuesday, April 8th, media members are welcome to join the Colorado Rapids for lunch hosted by Dave and Buster's in Westminster. All players and coaches will be available for interviews at the luncheon.

Later in the evening, Colorado Rapids players will host a 2-hour (4:30 PM -6:30 PM) Kickoff Youth Soccer Clinic at the Westminster Training Center for children ages 5-15. Running the Kickoff Clinic will be Rapids players Mark Chung, Scott Vallow, Steve Herdsman, John Spencer, Zizi Roberts, Matt Crawford, Pablo Mastroeni, Robin Fraser, Gilles Grimandi, Alberto Rizo and Rapids Assistant Coach Steve Trittschuh.

Wednesday afternoon, the Black and Blue will flood the streets at the Denver Pavilions from 11AM-2PM with the "Rapids Pep Rally". This Pep Rally will feature music, inflatable games, free giveaways, and contests. Rapids players John Spencer, Scott Garlick, Kyle Beckerman, Ritchie Kotschau, Bryan Jackson, Casey Schmidt, Zach Kingsley, Chris Carrieri, Robin Fraser, Chris Henderson and Head Coach Tim Hankinson will be signing autographs and food and prizes will also be on hand.

On Thursday, April 10th from 1PM-3PM, the entire Rapids team and Rapidman will make an appearance at the Children's Hospital in Denver to visit patients, sign autographs, take photos and read books to kids.

Starting at 6PM, the public can also join the Colorado Rapids and party hard during the Rapids Pub Crawl that will stop at 6 different bars throughout dowtown Denver. This event will be presented by Budweiser. Watch for a special jam session in the works with some of the Rapids Players making a guest appearance as a band along the way!

Friday night, join the Colorado Rapids at Caldonia's BBQ at Parker and Iliff for Happy Hour beginning at 5:00PM, at the "Rapids Friday Afternoon Club".

The Colorado Rapids open their 2003 season at home against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday April 12th, at 7:00 p.m. Exciting new international additions Gilles Grimandi and Zizi Roberts join Rapids veterans Pablo Mastroeni, Chris Henderson, John Spencer and Mark Chung as the Rapids begin their quest for MLS Cup 2003. Wednesday, April 9th -Colorado Rapids downtown PEP RALLY will take place at the Denver Pavilions from 11AM-2PM.
